The European Commission unveiled a package of groundbreaking proposals aimed at transforming the landscape of higher education in Europe. Adopted on March 27, the package aims to create a universal European degree, acting as a catalyst for unprecedented transnational cooperation among European academic institutions.
At the heart of the plan is the establishment of a new qualification - the European degree - designed to be universally recognized and respected across all European Union member states. This initiative marks a significant step towards the realization of the European education area, facilitating student mobility and promoting cultural and linguistic diversity.
The plan includes a detailed pathway for transnational cooperation among higher education institutions, with the goal of harmonizing teaching, learning, and assessment criteria.
