On 18 October 2025, Uni-Italia participated for the first time in the university fair “Study in Italy”, held at the Interpred Conference Center in Sofia, thanks to the valuable support of the Italian Embassy in Bulgaria and the Italian Cultural Institute of Sofia. Now in its sixteenth edition, the initiative represents the main event in Bulgaria dedicated to promoting Italian higher education, offering students, families, and education professionals a unique opportunity to learn more about the Italian university system.
Organized by Skylines (https://studyinitaly.bg/), in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Bulgaria, the Italian Cultural Institute of Sofia, Confindustria Bulgaria, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, the fair brought together some of Italy’s most prestigious universities and academies, including the University of Padua, Politecnico di Milano, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, IULM University of Milan, IED (Istituto Europeo di Design), NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, and Domus Academy.
The day began with an opening speech by the Italian Ambassador to Bulgaria, H.E. Marcello Apicella, who highlighted the growing number of Bulgarian students enrolling in Italian universities in recent years. The Ambassador noted that many of these students stand out for their preparation and motivation, and he expressed appreciation to the Bulgarian education system for the quality of the training it provides.
In his address, Ambassador Apicella directly encouraged the young attendees: “Choose Italy if you want a place where knowledge meets beauty; choose Italy if you believe that university should open not only your mind but also your life; choose Italy if you are ready to live an experience you will never forget.”
He also emphasized the presence in Bulgaria of a dynamic Italian business network, composed of numerous companies ready to welcome skilled and motivated young people, offering concrete professional opportunities for those who choose to study in Italy. The Ambassador concluded by thanking Uni-Italia and the representatives of the Italian institutions present, acknowledging the valuable contribution of the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Sofia for their commitment to promoting higher education.
Uni-Italia participated with its own representative, presenting the activities of the Association and introducing visitors to the opportunities for studying in Italy. During the event, participants received information on bachelor’s and master’s programs in Italian and English, scholarships, admission procedures, language courses, and student life in Italy.
