Francesco Profumo is the new President
Uni-Italia Board of Directors designated the former Minister Francesco Profumo as the new President of the Association.
Francesco Profumo, born in 1953, was Minister of Education, University and Research from November 2011 to April 2013 and President of the National Research Council (CNR), from August 2011 to January 2012.
He graduated in 1977 in Electrical Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino, in which he was President of the Faculty of Engineering from 2003 to 2005 and Rector from 2005 to 2011.
Thanks to his intense academic activity, he received the title of Honorary Research Doctor from 10 universities located in various parts of the world.
He published over 250 works in international scientific journals and on international conference.
He won many international awards (such as those of the Ieee-Ias Conference - United States - and of the Ipec Conference in Japan).
Among the awards, that he has obtained, there is also the China Awards of the Italy-China Foundation.
Profumo is also a member of the Committee Eni Prize Selection.
In June 2013, he become president of the energy company Iren.
In 2014, he become president of the Higher Education Management School (SAFM) in Turin, and in the same year, he become president of the Bruno Kessler Foundation in Trento.
Since 2015, he become president of the BoDY of INWIT, Infrastrutture Wireless Italiane S.p.A., the Telecom Italia group company.
Since May 2016, he become President of the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation.
Since 2018, he is a member of the Giovanni Agnelli Foundation.
In 2019, he was elected president of ACRI.
